REDDAM HOCKEY GETS BIG BOOST

02 December 2016

Hockey at Reddam House, Bedfordview took a big leap forward on Friday 2 December with the official opening of the newly-completed AstroTurf hockey field.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Reddam House Director Mrs. Dalene Quayle, Headmaster Mr. Stephen Hazley, Project Engineer Mr. Andrew Comley, Chairman of Eastern Gauteng Schools Hockey Ms. Zita Teixeira, current National Player Rassie Pieterse and Deputy Head Mr. John Chaplin and the Senior Preparatory students and teachers.

Reddam students celebrated their first experience on the new surface with an inter-house hockey tournament.

Going forward Reddam has great plans for hockey.  For starters Eastern Gauteng Schools’ Hockey will host an Olympic Hockey camp at Reddam during the school holidays to which experienced International Olympic players have been invited to run a hockey coaching clinic for junior players.
